The aim of the breakfast is to provide a format for an active, useful and supportive MOCA business network (contacts). Useful for members in referral, advice, network and connection, in addition to providing a strong working-life connection for the School, Community and Marcellin community.
What’s it about?
The purpose of the MOCA Business Network is to:
• Connect the wider Marcellin community via networking opportunities and the online database
• Creating opportunities to reconnect with peers with subjects relating to business advancement, business themes, business knowledge sharing and business opportunities for Marcellin MOCA members and the school community – typically via functions, events, breakfasts, speaker nights and reunions
• Contribute with financial assistance for various projects to benefit the Marcellin school or Marcellin community
Many of you have participated in our previous business breakfasts. This is the first time under our new banner of the “MOCA Business Network”, so we are hoping for much support from you all. We’ll have some interesting speakers on various aspects of business.
In the coming year, we will continue to develop interesting topics, invite guest speakers and provide opportunities develop a useful business and professional network.
We will be introducing some interesting speakers on various aspects of business, including Mark Delaney*, Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Investments Officer for AustralianSuper. AustralianSuper is one of the largest industry superannuation funds in Australia, with over 1.4 million members drawn from over 110,000 workplaces and in excess of $28 billion in funds under management. Mark Cooper, Director of COSOL Australia (www.cosol.com.au) will be kicking off the breakfast summarising the purpose and intent of the newly formed “MOCA Business Network”.

Mark Delaney; Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Investments Officer
Mark is the Chief Investments Officer of AustralianSuper, acting as an advisor to the Board, developing and implementing investment strategies, and managing the work of AustralianSuper’s investment advisers. Mark was the Chief Executive of the Superannuation Trust of Australia (STA) for three years prior to the merger with ARF to form AustralianSuper. Prior to STA, Mark worked for 14 years at National Mutual/AXA, moving his way through the company from Economist to Senior Manager of Investment Services. He also spent four years working as an economist in the Federal Department of Treasury. Mark has a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) and a Diploma in Chartered Financial Analysis.
John Toomey Life Balance Consulting
John Toomey is one of Australia’s leading Health Educators. He holds a Degree in Physical Education and has worked in a number of diverse areas. His work includes Professional Sport, where he has served as a Conditioning Coach and/or Nutritionist to seven AFL Teams, most recently Richmond Football Club in 1998-9, to the upper level of Australia’s corporate community as a Speaker and Trainer in the areas of Health, Personal Development, Work/Life Balance and Leadership to organisations like National Australia Bank, BHP, Telstra and The Productivity Commission. John has also taught at a number of Melbourne’s Universities and Colleges including Monash University’s School of Medicine where he taught an alternative health and lifestyle enhancement program to medical students. He is a regular presenter at National and International conferences. John has been a regular, in demand, media commentator on radio stations like 3LO, 3AK, 2GB and the Austereo Group, and in Melbourne Newspapers.
