Mark Cooper, Marcellin Business Network
After a very successful 65th Anniversary Luncheon last year, this has become an annual event on the Marcellin calendar.
Mass will commence at 11am in the College Chapel celebrated by Old Collegian, Fr Ken Boland. Following Mass, Mr Mark Murphy, Principal, will run a guided tour of the College and then lunch will commence at 12.30pm in the Functions Room.
We welcome all Old Collegians and their family and friends along to this most enjoyable event.
Cost: $60 per person includes a delicious two-course lunch and beverage package.
The annual Mass celebrating the life of deceased Old Collegians will be held on Wednesday November 18th at the Marcellin Chapel at 7.30pm.
A light supper will be served in the "Old Boys Room" following Mass.
This is an important date on the Marcellin calendar. We are grateful to the efforts of Mary Norden and Dorreen Theisz who have sponsored and supported this annual gathering for many years now.
We took the opportunity to have a chat to Bernadette Dinneen, who is a current mum at Marcellin. Bernadette's brother, Leo Price OAM, passed away ten years ago. In this interview, Bernadette speaks about Leo, the impact his loss has had on their family and the importance of this Mass to celebrate Leo's life.
A number of people who attend this Mass do so because they have experienced the loss of a loved one who was a not an Old Collegian but instead had a strong connection with the College. For example the sister or a close friend of an Old Collegian.
All are welcome.
If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact Mary Norden on 9842 3080. She would more than happy to talk to you.
For catering purposes, could you indicate your acceptance via return email or call or text Lisa Gillies 0451 168 655.
Australian Rules Football has made, and continues to make, an important contribution to the life of Marcellin College.
This year we are formally recognising this contribution with the creation of a Friends of Marcellin Football Supporters Group. It's first official function will be a supporters luncheon ahead of the Marcellin College v Penleigh and Essendon Grammar First XVIII Game on Friday June 12. The format of the day will be a 2 course luncheon followed by a guest panel of TBC football identities who will entertain with some insider stories.
The College has produced many talented footballers who have gone on to play elite football in VFL, AFL and VAFA teams. And it has had countless others who have gone on to be valuable club footballers. Plus there are many parents and friends who have gladly volunteered their time and energy in the support of Marcellin Football.
